What We Do and How We Do It

At PlanetITAD, our process begins with the collection of laptops and mobile devices from businesses and nonprofits. Devices are transported to our secure warehouse operations for processing.

Once received, all data-bearing devices are sanitized using our proprietary NIST 800-88 compliant software. Devices that cannot be reused are responsibly dismantled and recycled through our R2v3 certified downstream partners, ensuring full environmental compliance.

We provide full chain-of-custody documentation and certificates of data destruction for every batch we handle—offering transparency and peace of mind for our clients.

Devices that pass our inspection are fully refurbished and prepared for resale through our network of e-commerce sales channels, including eBay, our Shopify store, and wholesale distribution.

To support digital equity, 5% of all usable laptops and mobile devices are donated to local nonprofit organizations. These donations help bridge the digital divide, giving underserved individuals access to the tools they need to succeed in the digital age.
